Correspondence to Morley Roberts, 1907-1941.

Aside from two of the letters, in 1924 and 1941, all of the Horace Annesley Vachell's letters to Morley Roberts are concentrated in the period 1907 to 1919. The letters reflect a friendship between them and contain many responses to Roberts's literary work, especially stories and plays. In August 1915 Vachell writes about the death of his son in the war; and also mentions the manuscript of a play in which he and Roberts were partners. His letter of 1924 contains his response to Roberts's book on W. H. Hudson, as well as remarks on current politics. His letter of 1941 concerns Roberts's Behaviour of Nations, and also speaks of the war.
